Cemetery Notice
Hickling Parish Council hereby give notice that they will be enforcing the Cemetery policy, with regard to what is permitted to be placed on any grave or ashes plots. This is for health and safety reasons and to assist with ground maintenance.
Vases, plant pots of a modest and size and small temporary ornaments are allowed but must be placed on the base of the headstone in such a way that they will not interfere with cemetery maintenance, i.e., not to be placed on the grass. No glass or china is permitted in any instance.
As such all non-permitted items will be moved and placed on the ground next to the bench by main cemetery gate on 30th August 2024. They will remain there for collection until the 14th September 2024, after this time they will be disposed of. This notice will be published on the cemetery gates, the parish notice boards and also parish social media/ Facebook.
Many thanks for your understanding and help to keep the cemetery grounds tranquil, respectful and uncluttered so that people can come and pay their respects and reflect on the life of their loved-ones.
